Walrein: does the bulk make up for the Ice typing’s weaknesses?

Walrein has solid bulk and the Ice/Water typing has fewer weaknesses than pure Ice. Is Walrein actually a decent defensive pick, or does it get outclassed by other Water and Ice types?

Swampert: the best Hoenn starter, or am I biased?

The Water/Ground typing means Swampert has only one weakness (Grass, at 4x), and the bulk is great. Honestly it’s my pick for the best of the Hoenn starters. Who else runs Swampert, and do you prefer the standard or Mega set?
