"Mega Charizard ex" — real card or just people combining two mechanics?

Question

Similar confusion to the Darkrai one — seeing "Mega Charizard ex" thrown around but Mega Evolution and the "ex" card mechanic come from completely different eras/sets. Is there an actual card called this or is it just fans blending Mega Charizard X/Y with the modern ex format?

Vicky · Answer

Yes, Mega Charizard X ex is a real Pokémon TCG card. It combines the Mega Evolution mechanic with the modern Pokémon ex mechanic, rather than being two unrelated mechanics mashed together.
