Sun Stone — which Pokémon actually need one to evolve?

Question

Trying to plan my team around evolutions and keep running into the Sun Stone without a clear list of what it’s used for. Which Pokémon evolve with a Sun Stone, and does the location to find one change between games?

Amelia · Answer

Gloom, Sunkern, Petilil, Cottonee and Helioptile are the main ones. Gloom turns into Bellossom with it.
