Mega Rayquaza stats — how broken is it really?

Question

Looking at Mega Rayquaza's stats and it seems absurd compared to most other Megas, especially since it doesn't even need the Mega Stone item slot. Is it actually as dominant in Ubers as the numbers suggest, or is there a real way to handle it?

Ankit · Answer

Mega Rayquaza is genuinely ridiculous. It has 780 total base stats, including 180 Attack, 180 Special Attack, and 115 Speed, plus the powerful Delta Stream ability. It also doesn't need a Mega Stone, allowing it to hold another item. Those advantages made it so powerful that it was banned from standard competitive play and became the benchmark for an exceptionally overpowered Pokémon.
