Lopunny — does it hold up outside the Mega form?

Question

Mega Lopunny gets talked about a lot but curious if base Lopunny is worth using at all outside of that, especially in formats where Megas aren't allowed.

Jason · Answer

Yeah, regular Lopunny can still work outside its Mega form, but it’s pretty average competitively. Its Speed is solid, and Scrappy can be useful, but its Attack and overall bulk aren’t especially impressive. Mega Lopunny is a huge upgrade, so without the Mega Stone, I’d mainly use Lopunny for casual play rather than expecting it to dominate.

Alex · Answer

Yes, but it’s noticeably weaker outside Mega form. Regular Lopunny is still very fast (105 Speed) and has useful coverage, but its 76 Attack limits damage. Mega Lopunny jumps to 135 Speed, 136 Attack, plus Fighting typing and Scrappy.
