Gengar — best moveset and is it still meta relevant?
Curious what everyone's running on Gengar these days, especially with the amount of Dark and Ghost types floating around now. Still a solid special attacker or has it been outclassed?

For Gengar, the optimal moveset for Raids and PvE is Shadow Claw (or legacy Lick) paired with Shadow Ball for Ghost-type damage, or Sludge Bomb if you need a Poison attacker. For PvP (Great or Ultra League), the preferred setup is Shadow Claw paired with Shadow Punch (for shield baiting) and Shadow Ball. Regarding meta relevance, standard Gengar acts as a high-damage glass cannon that is somewhat niche and heavily outclassed in Master League, but its Mega Evolution remains an absolute tier-one monster for PvE raids due to its staggering DPS.

Gengar runs Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb, Focus Blast, and Destiny Bond or Nasty Plot. It remains a dangerous fast special attacker, but its poor bulk and stronger rivals limit consistency.
