Flygon: more than just a pretty design?

Question

Love the design of Flygon, and Levitate gives it a nice immunity to Ground moves. But does Flygon actually earn a slot on a competitive team, or does the 4x Ice weakness hold it back too much?

William · Answer

Flygon’s dragon typing and high speed make it a versatile special attacker. Its ability, Levitate, grants immunity to Ground-type moves, which is crucial for surviving common hazards. While its bulk is mediocre, moves like Outrage and Dragon Claw allow it to sweep through teams lacking specific resistances. It shines in faster stratagems where it can strike before being threatened by faster threats.

Soren · Answer

Flygon has good Speed and a useful Ground/Dragon typing. With the right moveset, it can provide strong offensive coverage and useful immunities.

Aney · Answer

Flygon deserves more appreciation for its Ground and Dragon typing, useful immunities, and decent Speed. Levitate helps it avoid Ground attacks, making it a versatile option for balanced teams.
