Blaziken: is Speed Boost still worth building around?

Question

Blaziken was my first ever starter, and Speed Boost still feels like one of the best abilities in the series. Does Blaziken still hold up in the current meta, or has it fallen behind now that Mega Blaziken isn’t available in most formats?

Aney · Answer

Absolutely! Speed Boost makes Blaziken dangerous by increasing its Speed every turn. Combined with strong Fighting and Fire attacks, it can sweep opposing teams, provided it gets a safe opportunity to set up.
